Learn-to-Skate Scholarship

 

We understand the expenses associated with skating may not fit into everyone’s budget and want to give everyone with the desire to skate, the chance to do so. We aim to get everyone on the ice and eliminate the barrier of cost through our scholarship program. Our scholarship covers all but $10 of the total cost associated with Learn-to-Skate classes. We reserve at least 2 scholarship spots each session.

 One application per individual is required.

 


Who Qualifies?

  • Our qualification criteria include, but are not limited to: school-aged youth who qualify for free and reduced lunch (or similar program) within their school district

  • All skating levels (Teddy Bear to Advanced Free Skate) are eligible for scholarship

  • Participants must be 18 or under

How to Apply:

  • Apply using the Goggle Form below

  • There are no limits to how may times a year you can apply. Scholarships are on a first come first serve basis as funds are available

  • Only allowed to sign up for one Learn-to-Skate day per session. The scholarship does not apply to Accelerated lessons or Specialty Classes

  • The application for scholarship will be treated as registration and will a reserve a spot in the class for applicants on a first come first serve basis as with all registrations

  • If scholarship is approved but applicant was not able to join classes for the current session, a spot will be reserved for the following session or next session applicant is available

  • Applicants must reapply every session

Application Process:

  • Participants can apply by filling out the Google Form below. Paper copies are available for pick-up at the rink if requested ahead of time. Please contact us by phone (608-204-7606) or email (skatingschool@madisoniceinc.com)  to find a time to pick up application

  • After submitting your application a member of Madison Ice Skating School will evaluate your initial information and contact you to reach out about next steps

  • If your evaluation indicates you qualify for the scholarship and we have room in our classes, we will then send you a link to register for class through our Amilia system along with a coupon code to enter during time of registration which will cover all but $10 of the cost of classes

  • If this evaluation indicates you qualify for a scholarship but we no longer have any room in our Learn-to-Skate classes we will reserve a spot for you for the next session you are able to attend. We will contact you with more information on how to register when it is time to do so.

How far in advance do I need to apply for a scholarship?

  • Scholarship application must be completed and turned in by Learn-to-Skate registration deadline

  • A new application must be submitted for each session

Missing Classes

If you are unable to attend all classes in the session, we allow for one make-up class each session. To fill out the make-up form please use the following link: www.madisoniceinc.com/makeup

How do I donate to the scholarship fund?


Any amount you can give is appreciated! With your help we can make another new skaters dreams come true!
